Daniele Bennati and Nalini: The Jova Giro, IBF and What’s Next

The partnership between Nalini and the former professional cyclist — with an impressive 54 career victories and former Head Coach of the Italian National Road Cycling Team — is going from strength to strength following the success of the capsule collection bearing his name. In this interview, we take stock of the present and look ahead to his upcoming plans: from the Jova Giro, currently underway, to a meeting with cycling enthusiasts at the International Bike Festival in Misano, taking place from 4 to 6 September 2026.

What has been the best day of the Jova Giro so far? Do you have an anecdote to share?

It is difficult to choose just one day, because it has been a truly unique journey — made up of many kilometres, but above all of people, places and moments that I will carry with me. If I had to choose, rather than a single day I would say that the best memory was seeing Lorenzo (Jovanotti, ed.) get on his bike every morning with the same enthusiasm, regardless of the distance covered or the effort of the previous day.

I come from professional cycling, where the bike was my job for a lifetime. Experiencing it this way, without a stopwatch or a result to chase, travelling across Italy with him and an extraordinary group, has allowed me to rediscover a side of cycling that I may have partly forgotten. And with Jova, there is always an anecdote waiting around the corner: you set off thinking you are simply going to ride a stage, and you never know what will happen before you arrive!

How is your relationship with Nalini developing?

My relationship with Nalini is going very well and is growing stronger all the time. It is an Italian company that knows cycling and its history, and that is very meaningful to me. What I appreciate most is the direct exchange: I do not feel like just an ambassador using a product, but someone who can contribute through the experience gained over many years in cycling. The Benna capsule collection is a tangible example of this, and I would like this journey to continue growing.

What do you think of the Nalini AEROBAG Bibshort? Let’s talk about safety on the bike.

I find the AEROBAG a very interesting product because it brings a tangible safety concept into a technical garment that we use every day. For anyone who spends many hours on the bike, whether professional or amateur, a crash is unfortunately always a possibility; anything that can help limit its consequences is an important step forward.

More generally, I believe there is still a great deal to be done when it comes to cycling safety. Technology can help us enormously, but it must go hand in hand with mutual respect on the road and a stronger culture of coexistence between cyclists and motorists. Cyclists will always be the most vulnerable road users.

Any spoilers about future projects?

Something is in the works… After so many years in cycling, first as a rider and then in different roles, I increasingly feel the desire to put my experience at the service of projects where I can play a meaningful role. There are some interesting things I am working on, naturally connected to the world of cycling, but not limited to its competitive side. For the moment, though, I cannot say much more. Let’s just say that 2027 may bring some exciting news.

Will we see you at IBF 2026?

Absolutely. IBF has become an important event for the entire cycling world, and it will also be a great opportunity to meet so many people who share our passion. See you there — naturally alongside Nalini. And perhaps at IBF we will be able to share a few more spoilers!
