This is the second consecutive year for the charity initiative "Pedalando per la Ricerca" promoted by Alessandro Mucci, with the aim of raising funds for the AIRC foundation for Cancer Research, which once again sees Nalini as a technical partner, but not only:
"Alex Mucci's initiative has something exceptional about it, which contagiously appeals for its originality and authenticity," said the Mantua-based company. "The increasing incidence of this disease obviously involves everyone, some more, some less, but the special thing about Alex's tour is that this painful subject is tackled with a smile, talking about sport, showing his desire to do something concrete, with joy and determination. All praise goes to Alex and his fellow adventurers. Nalini simply and proudly stands by them to support and promote the initiative. We want to use all our channels to give maximum visibility to this initiative, involving our followers and all the athletes who we know are sensitive and generous on these issues, and last but not least we will do our small part by donating a percentage of the sales of our website for the month of September and October 2021 to the fundraiser".
Getting to the heart of the project, its creator, Alessandro Mucci, describes the fundraising tour program in detail:
"After crossing the earthquake zones of central Italy and the Western Alps on our racing bikes, in total autonomy, this year we will push our limits a little further, always with the aim of raising funds and giving a message of hope to all those who fight against terrible illnesses every day.
In 2021, we will be involved in three projects:
1. Milano Sanremo, 300 km non-stop on August 21, by bike in unsupported mode. Why Milan San Remo? Because it is one of the most iconic races in world cycling and one of the most fascinating. Covering the 300 km that separate the capital of Lombardy from the city of flowers for a good cause will be a unique and unforgettable experience.
2. Giro del Friuli Venezia Giulia, from September 15-18, 615 km with 13,500 metres of elevation gain in unsupported mode. After having passed through the earthquake zones of central Italy, we have decided to give continuity to the project by moving on to Friuli Venezia Giulia, a wonderful land to be discovered, which unfortunately in 1976 experienced one of the most disastrous earthquakes of the 20th century. An event that profoundly marked that land, but which allowed the creation of the "Friuli Model", after which post-earthquake procedures began to be carried out in a completely different way, aimed at efficiency and saving as many lives as possible. We will leave from Longarone, sadly famous for the Vajont disaster, and, after crossing the Julian Alps from top to bottom, we will arrive in Trieste, the regional capital and crossroads of a myriad of different cultures. The individual stages will be: 1st Longarone - Comeglians (155 km, 3600EG+), 2nd Comeglians - Moggio Udinese 8150 km, 3800EG+), 3rd Moggio - Cividale del Friuli (138 km, 3000EG+), 4th Cividale - Trieste (165 km, 2900EG+).
3. Venice Marathon on 24 October".
The first stage, Milan-Sanremo, which has just ended, had as protagonists, in addition to Alessandro, Ivan Balestrieri, Alberto Tonelli and Edoardo Gili.
